Bring your bike and ride during Tour de Zoo, a family fun event. There will be dinner, snacks and refreshments plus special animal encounters during the fun-filled evening.
If registered by July 15, guests will receive a FREE T-shirt! Cost is $20 per person for Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium members and $25 per person for non-members. Children 2 and under are free, do not require a registration and will not receive a T-shirt. Reservations are required. Ride-in registrations are available but will not receive a T-shirt. Tour de Zoo is rain or shine. Registration fees are non-refundable.
The printed form says helmets are encouraged but not required. The e-registration page says helmets are required. If you go without a helmet, you may be denied entrance to the zoo.
The GONG Ride is a self-supported nighttime gravel roads bicycle ride occurring August 1 in the Omaha area. Choose either the 25 mile or 50 mile route. Bring food. Bring water. Bring a light. Bring a friend. We’ll bring the gong.
The biggest thing to keep in mind is that this ride is pretty much self-supported. Please, PLEASE have someone you can call to pick you up in the event that you can’t bike back to your car or home.
Start is at the pavilion off the 96th St parking lot. The parking lot gate is locked at night. For those who drive to the ride, many park in the Papillion La Vista South High School parking lot on 108th south of Hwy 370. There are cement trails from there to the 96th St pavilion.
People who ride bicycles need to express the need for the following bicycle features on the BRT buses:
